Healthgrades Recognizes Crozer Health Hospitals
5-star Recipients include Crozer-Chester Medical Center and Delaware County Memorial Hospital
According to new research by Healthgrades, the leading resource that connects consumers, physicians and health systems, Crozer-Chester Medical Center is the only hospital in Delaware County to achieve the “5-Star Rating for Treatment of Pulmonary Embolism for Two Years in a Row (2019-2021).”
“The importance of hospital quality is top of mind for consumers, as they are becoming more aware of the differences of care provided by different hospitals,” said Dr. Brad Bowman, M.D., Chief Medical Officer, Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident knowing that hospitals that are recognized for their performance in pulmonary embolism provide high quality care and superior outcomes.”
For its analysis, Healthgrades evaluated approximately 45 million Medicare inpatient records for nearly 4,500 short-term acute care hospitals nationwide to assess hospital performance in 32 common conditions and procedures, and evaluated comparative outcomes in appendectomy and bariatric surgery using all-payer data provided by 16 states.
“Healthgrades rankings serve as confirmation that Delaware County residents can access high quality care right in their own community,” said Crozer Health CEO, Peter Adamo. “This type of outstanding recognition is a direct reflection of the patient-centered, compassionate care our clinical teams deliver every day.”
In addition to pulmonary embolism, Crozer Health hospitals were also recognized for the following clinical achievements:
Orthopedics
• Crozer-Chester Medical Center is a Five-Star Recipient for Total Knee Replacement for four years in a row (2018-2021).
Critical Care

• Crozer-Chester Medical Center is a Five-Star Recipient for Vaginal Delivery in 2020.
• Delaware County Memorial Hospital is a Five-Star Recipient for Vaginal Delivery in 2020.
Speaking specifically about the Labor and Delivery Recognition, Bowman said, “Women who select a hospital with a 5-star rating can feel confident in their choice knowing that these organizations are committed to providing exceptional women’s care to their patients.”
