A critical component of modern healthcare, medical imaging includes a wide array of procedures and technologies that enable physicians to better diagnose and treat health conditions and diseases.

Crozer Health is Delaware County's leading choice for comprehensive outpatient medical imaging services. Our goal is to provide patients with a quality experience from start to finish at each of our imaging centers. Most services have appointments available within 24 hours, and reports are available to referring physicians.

Available Diagnostic Imaging Services

Our imaging centers are accredited by the American College of Radiology, and Delaware County Memorial Hospital and Crozer-Chester Medical Center have both been named  Breast Imaging Centers of Excellence. All of our facilities are staffed with board-certified radiologists, registered technologists and registered nurses.

We are proud to offer high-quality, state-of-the-art equipment. We invest in the latest technology manufactured by Siemens, GE, and Hologic, all leaders in their industry. Our all-digital system provides improved image quality at lower radiation levels. Images are instantly available, providing shorter patient visits and timely interpretations.

DEXA Scan

A DEXA scan, or bone density scan, is the best way to evaluate your bone mineral density and estimate your chance of having a fracture. Bone scans are used to evaluate diseases of the bone or evaluate treatment for these diseases.

Breast Imaging

Crozer Health offers state-of-the-art imaging services for the timely detection of breast disease and breast cancer. Most breast problems are not a cause for alarm. However, when a woman finds a lump or has an abnormal mammogram, she wants to be seen by a specialist right away.

Computed Tomography (CT)

Computed Tomography (CT or CAT scan) is a noninvasive diagnostic imaging procedure that uses a combination of X-rays and computer technology to produce horizontal, or axial, images (often called slices) of the body.

DaTscan

Crozer Health offers DaTscan, the only FDA-approved medical imaging agent that is used to differentiate between Parkinson's disease and essential tremor.

Diagnostic X-Ray

General diagnostic X-ray uses radiation to produce pictures of the various bones in the body. Standard X-rays are performed for many reasons, including diagnosing tumors or bone injuries.

Fluoroscopy

Fluoroscopy is a diagnostic test that uses a continuous beam of X-rays to follow movement in the body. The images resulting from fluoroscopy are displayed on a video monitor.

Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiologists use their expertise in reading X-rays, ultrasounds and other medical images to guide small instruments such as catheters through the blood vessels or other pathways to treat disease through the skin.

Nuclear Medicine

Nuclear medicine imaging provides doctors with information about both structure and function, and allows them to gather medical information that would otherwise require surgery or necessitate more expensive diagnostic tests.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a radiation-free, usually non-invasive way to produce high-quality pictures inside the body from multiple planes. MRI picks up the body’s radiofrequency signals and converts them into three-dimensional images.

PET/CT Scans

A PET/CT scan allows physicians to measure the body's abnormal molecular cell activity to detect cancer, brain disorders and heart disease. PET scans are simple, painless, and fast, providing real-life answers to better diagnose illness, guide treatment options, and give patients ultimate control over their critical and vital healthcare decisions.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is a medical imaging technique that uses sound waves and their echoes. Ultrasound has been used in a variety of clinical settings.

Non-Invasive Vascular Studies

Our non-invasive vascular laboratories help doctors test and diagnose patients with vascular conditions. Staffed by highly trained vascular technicians and doctors, the Non-Invasive Vascular Lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories.

Our Providers

The Medical Imaging Department of Crozer Health is staffed by experienced, board-certified radiologists who have met the strict guidelines set by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Our technologists are certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, and our safe facilities are accredited by the American College of Radiology and inspected annually by FDA.

Crozer Health is also part of the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging’s “Image Gently” program, which aims to reduce radiation doses on children.
