Smedley Wellness Center

The Smedley Wellness Center is the first and only school-based healthcare clinic in Delaware County, created through a partnership between Crozer-Chester Medical Center and the Chester-Upland School District. The Wellness Center is open year-round, and is available for children from the ages of 11 to 22, regardless of where they live or go to school.

The mission of the Wellness Center is to improve the health of children and adolescents in the community by providing convenient, on-site, quality healthcare and health promotion programs throughout the school district. No matter what brings a teen in to the Center, they can count on receiving quality care in a compassionate, friendly environment.

The Smedley Wellness Center provides:

• Routine care such as physical exams, vaccinations, asthma maintenance care and health education.
• Sick care to teenagers who have immediate health concerns.
• Sexual health education and services such as STD testing and treatment, family planning and gynecological exams.
• Counseling, management and referrals for emotional issues.
• Free weight management program for overweight youth.

Youth Development Programs at The Wellness Center

Funded by federal and local agencies, the Wellness Center's Youth Development Programs are facilitated by the staff of the Wellness Center from their Community Hospital offices. The programs promote leadership development and positive role models as a means of reducing health risk behaviors among teens. The Wellness Center's programs annually serve over 1,500 adolescents between the ages of 12 and 18 in the Chester-Upland School District.

Tots to Teens Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology

Gynecologic problems can occur in females of all ages. The goal of Crozer Health’s Tots to Teens Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology program is to empower parents, young girls, and teens to address their concerns in a sensitive manner through education and skilled healthcare.

The team includes a gynecologist and an adolescent medicine specialist to diagnose, manage, and treat medical and surgical issues.

Services are available to young females, ages 2-21.

We collaborate with patients’ primary care providers. We accept most insurance. Our office is conveniently accessible by public transportation. Garage parking available.
